Why this blog?
Surfin’ Birdman Guitars is the place where
I intend to share my guitar transformations with people who enjoy beautiful
rock ‘n’ roll guitars. My purpose is to show that even cheap guitars can be
dramatically upgraded and turned into wild surfin’ rock ‘n’ roll beasts with a
bit of cash, creativity, audacity, passion and of course, a lot of elbow grease.
Why
this name? Oh, it is fairly self-explanatory: the first part of the noun refers
to my immoderate fondness for surf rock music; the second part refers to this
seminal Australian combo whose two original guitar men Deniz Iceman Tek and
Chris Klondike Masuak happen to be guitar heroes of mine, ultimate references.
So, Surfin’ Birdman Guitars are cheap guitars transformed and customized with
the Birdman in mind, because I could – immodestly - picture the two
afore-mentioned guitar-heroes with such guitars in their hands. Something they
would not be ashamed of. And last but not least, I do this as a hobby, not for money,
for my own personal use and for friends, so I do not sell anything.
Surfin’ Birdman Guitars is the kingdom of red or black finish, white
pearloid pick guards, chrome plates and chicken-head pot knobs.
